What is Model United Nations?

Model United Nations (also Model UN or MUN) is a student-led extracurricular academic program in which students simulate the United Nations procedure. This is learned through negotiation, discussion and lively debates, which are the cornerstone of United Nations activity. Each student is appointed a UN body within which they represent a country other than their own, then simulate real life diplomatic and legal actions while debating the best solutions to various global issues. It educates participants about current events, pressing issues in international relations, diplomacy, international law and the United Nations agenda. Participants also develop important skills such as public speaking, presentation, persuasion, analysis of situations, research skills, and critical thinking. Model UN is practiced in schools and universities worldwide with over 90,000 students enrolled each year and who take part in more than 1000 conferences worldwide. It is the most popular political simulation in the world and the students who champion this discipline are considered by their respective universities to be among the best and brightest.

Our Vision:

To be one of the leading centers of diplomatic training in the country.

To provide students who are interested in being the next generation of leaders, with the tools, skills and experience for those interested to be more effective and informed current activists and future leaders.

To have a unified base of operations for coordination on the national level between societies, as well as, creating a platform for the various societies to exchange ideas, discuss, plan, communicate and future initiatives.

To create national awareness of model UN within governmental, non-governmental and academic institutions and provide an effective platform to further grow the recognition of and activities of the developing Model UN community in Israel so as to incorporate those of its members who are interested, into the national political and diplomatic work force.
